Police find man who escaped Whiteville Police custody

There is an update on a man who escaped Whiteville Police custody Wednesday night.

Police said they found Caron Antwan Robinson around midnight on West Water Street in an abandoned house.

Around 6:30 p.m., officers brought Robinson in for multiple charges of robbery with a dangerous weapon. As they were booking him, they said he escaped through a side door at the Columbus County Sheriff Department, still in handcuffs.
