Police looking for more information on a lifeguard hit by a boat

Carolina Beach Police are asking for your help.

On July 4th, Carolina Beach lifeguard, Daniel Anderson, was hit by the propeller of a boat while making a rescue. Four months later, North Carolina Wildlife has closed the investigation with no leads. Now Carolina Beach Police want to reopen the case to reach closure for Anderson and his family.

“At this time we don’t plan on taking charges out on anyone, we talked to the victim about it, and he is ok about it. We want to put some closure to this, and find out what happened,” said William Younginer, Carolina Beach Police Chief.

“Naturally, if anyone has information about this we would like for them to come forward, and report to the Carolina Beach Police Department,” said Anderson.

Police said the boat was medium to large in size, and may have had two engines.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Carolina Beach Police Department at 910-458-2540.
