Police still investigating fatal shooting

WILMINGTON — Police are still investigating a shooting that left one man dead in Wilmington Sunday night.

There are many unanswered questions surrounding the suspect and neighbors want answers.

In time of an emergency decisions have to be made fast. A makeshift memorial is all that’s left of Sunday night’s murder in Wilmington.

Police responded to the Nesbitt Court development on Second Street after calls about a possible shooting.

The victim, 21 year-old Dywuane Reshaune Simpson, was found by neighbors, shot several times.

Witnesses say Simpson tried to hold on as long as he could but wasn’t able to make it.

According to official reports Simpson died at the hospital. The victim’s uncle wants police to catch the individual responsible for the murder. He does want the public to know that his nephew was not in a gang, and this incident was not gang related police still are looking for any information to help solve this case.

This is the ninth murder of the year in the city of Wilmington.
