Poplar Grove Farmer’s Market gets new parking lot
A visit to Poplar Grove Plantation just got a lot easier. A $50,000 grant from the North Carolina Tobacco Trust Fund Commission helped pay to create a new parking lot to replace an old potholed dirt one.
The new gravel lot has fencing and signs to help direct traffic and make it easier for visitors to the plantation and its farmer’s market and other events get around.
“We utilized our Poplar Grove volunteers, which are a group of guys that have worked just wonderfully for us coming out and doing all this work, and the trust fund really made it happen,” said Poplar Grove Farmer’s Market manager BJ Ryan.
Poplar Grove is located on Highway 17 at the New Hanover-Pender County line.
The farmer’s market is open every Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. through December 16th.
