Port of Wilmington to test emergency alarm Monday
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — If you hear sirens near downtown Wilmington on Monday, don’t be alarmed.
According to a release from Wilmington Fire Department, the Port of Wilmington will test their emergency alarm system at Noon for 30 seconds. As a facility that handles dangerous cargo, the port is required to test the alarm periodically.
Officials said in the event of a real emergency, the alarm would be followed with specific instructions by NC Ports personnel.
