Port City Java moves headquarters

It is one of the Cape Fear’s best known businesses; tied up in legal disputes over rent Port City Java has packed up and moved.
Don’t worry the company did not leave Wilmington, it just moved its headquarters across town.

The new headquarters sits on the corner of River Road and Portwatch Way. Port City Java’s CEO, Steven Schnitzler, told WWAY News Channel 3 the move is for the better. The layout of the new building will make their operation more efficient. Schnitzler added that a pending lawsuit regarding rent at Port City Java’s old headquarters also played a role.

“It really didn’t make sense for us to continue to over pay,” said Schnitzler. “We feel that it was the best thing to move now. The lawsuit speaks for itself and we’ll continue to seek that money that we feel we’re owed.”

As for all the Port City Java fans out there; don’t worry, the move and the lawsuit won’t affect your cup of java one bit.

“As a matter of fact this is going to make it easier for us to get coffee to all of our locations. It’s not going to affect the experience our guest have at all,” said Schnitzler.
