Power outage downtown, accident on 3rd Street

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — An accident downtown could be the reason for multiple power outages in the area.

According to New Hanover County Dispatch, there was an accident at 3rd Street and Dawson Street. They couldn’t comment on if any injuries were reported.

Duke Energy’s outage map shows over 1,800 customers may be affected by the power outages. Power is estimated to be restored by 11:45 p.m.

Wilmington Police Department has four blocks blocked off around the accident.
