Powerball jackpot up to $900M as drawing nears

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — If the idea of winning $800 million in tonight’s Powerball drawing wasn’t enough to convince you to buy a ticket, how about $900 million?

The North Carolina Education Lottery says that’s now the record annuity payout if a single winner matches all five white balls and the red Powerball tonight. A winner taking the cash option would get $558 million.

Tickets for the largest lottery drawing in US history are on sale until 9:59 p.m. ET ahead of the drawing at 10:59 p.m.
