Powerball hits $245 million
WILMINGTON — If you’re feeling lucky you may want to buy yourself a Powerball ticket or two.
The nationwide lottery is up to $245 million.
Harman Singh manages the Candy’s Exxon station on Carolina Beach Road. He says the store’s selling about $2,000 worth of Powerball tickets daily. He plans to buy one himself, and says he’d give the majority to charity.
Singh said, “The money doesn’t belong to me and it should go towards the good of somebody else, not for my personal — or somebody I know — his or her personal gain.”
Singh says he’s seen people use everything from birthdays to addresses as their lottery numbers.
