Prepping for the holiday feast begins at Fort Bragg

Soldiers at Fort Bragg are already preparing for their holiday feast. This year’s theme at the chow hall is based on food from New Orleans. Seafood gumbo, shrimp and okra, even crab meat.

The only thing that is missing is the family members these soldiers won’t see because they are not back in their hometowns for the holidays.

“It’s going to be hard, but I didn’t get to go home last year either so you get used to it when you’ve been away for a while,” said Fort Bragg soldier Pvt. Chassie Lemieux.

If they can’t get home to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal, this has to be the next best thing. It is also a competition between dining facilities. Each facility has it’s own theme, complete with all the trimmings.
