Princess Street closed for month

Commuters who use Princess Street will need to find a detour for the next month.

On Monday, the city began construction on the 1200 block of Princess Street. The project is expected to last until July 24.

Princess Street will be closed Monday through Friday, but open on weekends.

City crews will install a new storm water system and Cape Fear Public Utility Authority will replace a deteriorated sewer main on Coye Alley.
