Prom Closet opening for Brunswick County students

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — For the third year in a row, Brunswick County high school students can get free pre-owned prom dresses, shoes and accessories.

South Brunswick High School Math Teacher Cathy Johnson is coordinating the special day-long pop-up style boutique that pairs any Brunswick County middle and high school student with free items.

The Prom Closet will be open to students on Saturday, March 25, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the South Brunswick High School cafeteria.

Johnson hopes students will take advantage of the opportunity to shop the Prom Closet before heading to the stores to make purchases.

Johnson collects gently dresses, shoes, and accessories from anyone who wishes to donate.
According to a news release, Stephanie Ganser, an employee in the UNCW Student Life department, is partnering with Johnson for the event.
Ganser’s efforts to collect dresses from UNCW students will add over 60 dresses.
For additional information about the Prom Closet or to make a donation, call the school at (910) 845-2203.
