Protest held for George Floyd in Whiteville

WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — The city of Whiteville raised their voices and made noise in a demonstration on Thursday.

As they shouted “no justice no peace,” demonstrators came from many faith-based organizations to gather in protest. They started on Lee Street and marched to the Columbus County Courthouse where they held a ceremony.

One organizer says the march and spiritual ceremony were intended to highlight the injustices in the world.

They said the want to let people know that “we can work together.”
