Public Meeting to discuss building height limit
The town of Kure Beach will hold a public meeting tonight to talk about the town’s building height limit.
At issue are the exceptions that should be allowed beyond the current limit of 35 feet. Air conditioning units, antennas and satellite dishes are some items on the list.
Currently the town does not allow those items to be built above the 35-foot height limit, but it’s not clearly stated in the town’s ordinance.
Kure Beach Mayor Mac Montgomery says clarifying the ordinance will help builders and future residents maintain the town’s neighborhood atmosphere.
The meeting is scheduled for 6:00 tonight at Kure Beach Town Hall.
