“Be a Tourist in Your Own Hometown” this weekend
Too often we fail to explore the communities in which we live. But the perfect opportunity to change that is coming up.
The Wilmington/Cape Fear Coast Convention and Visitor’s Bureau will host the 15th annual “Be a Tourist in Your Hometown” this weekend. Thirty-five Cape Fear attractions, including Screen Gems and Airlie Gardens, will participate in the event.
Organizers say it’s a way to help spread the word about all our region has to offer.
“The visitor’s bureau staff got together and decided to come up with a way to educate our residents about all there is to see and do, because our residents here are our best tourism ambassadors,” said Connie Nelson, of the Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.
