Rabies clinic held at Ogden Park
There have been a dozen confirmed cases of rabies in New Hanover County so far this year. Saturday, a free rabies clinic sponsored by the New Hanover County Humane Society helped county residents protect their pets.
Many animal lovers brought their furry friend to Ogden Park for the free shot. Dogs, cats and even ferrets were able to get vaccinated.
The clinic was a welcome relief for concerned pet owners. ”It’s important for animals to have their shots. There are so many rabies cases that are going on this time of year,” said Rosita Nancy Carson.
The most recent confirmed case of rabies was just Wednesday. A rabid fox bit a woman on Park Avenue.
