‘Real Men Adopt’ calendar raises awareness about puppy mills
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Are you still searching for a 2017 calendar? Do you want to help end puppy mills? If so, you may be interested in a new locally made calendar.
Proceeds from the ‘Real Men Adopt’ calendar are going to benefit several animal rescue organizations.
Calendar models came out to King Neptune’s in Wrightsville Beach Friday night for a calendar signing.
The creators of the calendar said there is a puppy mill problem across the country and there are currently no laws regarding puppy mills in North Carolina.
“We are partnered up with several rescues so we always have to raise enough money to give to the rescues and to the community to help these puppies,” Event Coordinator Kelly Barnes said.
“A lot of these guys didn’t get very much information,” Canines and Couture Founder Bridgett Rowley said. “All they got were: Will you do a calendar to help us save puppies? And all 12 of them jumped right in.”
If you missed out on Friday’s event you can still purchase a calendar at Oliver or Beanie + Cecil boutiques in Wilmington.
Organizers are also planning the annual Canines and Couture fashion show, which will take place on March 16, 2017.
