Redwine announces Senate run

Former State Rep. David Redwine announced late last night he will run for the State Senate seat held by R.C. Soles. Redwine, a Democrat, lost his House seat to Bonner Stiller in 2002. Soles announced in December he will not seek another term.

Redwine says he’d like to use his experience as an elected official and a business owner to ensure the people of Senate District 8 have someone who is job-ready. If elected Redwine said his priorities in the State Senate would focus on responsible spending and strengthening the economy.

Bettie Fennell and Bill Rabon are running for the Republican nomination. Fennell narrowly lost to Soles in 2008.
