Renovated building downtown awarded Greenspace of the Month

When you live downtown, green space can be difficult to come across, but one developer is trying to change that.

Wilmington Development Group has renovated the building at Second and Red Cross Streets to create The Bridges. The building houses eight condominiums, but what makes it really stand out is its green space. The development was awarded Greenspace of the Month by Wilmington Downtown, Inc.

Residents can even enjoy a vegetable garden out back. “That’s something that we found our consumers were asking for,” said Robert Rosenberg of Wilmington Development Group. “We tried to make it environmentally correct so we did a rainwater collection system so that rainwater off our roofs is collected in rain barrels.”

The Bridges’ developers worked to follow city leaders’ efforts to improve the downtown streetscape.
