Rep. Jones re-elected, defeating Adame
RALEIGH, NC (AP) — US Rep. Walter B. Jones Jr. has won re-election to an 11th term representing North Carolina’s 3rd Congressional District.
The incumbent Republican from Farmville defeated Democrat Marshall Adame, a retired U.S. Marine. According to early returns tabulated by The Associated Press, Jones had captured roughly 70 percent of the vote.
Jones serves on the House Armed Services Committee.
The 3rd district stretches east from Greenville to include Jacksonville, parts of Wilmington and much of the North Carolina coastline.
