REV Federal Credit Union gives $100K toward Thalian Hall renovation project

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) – A Wilmington arts landmark’s renovation effort has received a $100,000 donation from REV Federal Credit Union, marking the largest corporate gift so far in Thalian Hall Center for the Performing Arts’ capital campaign.
The contribution will go toward naming rights for the ceiling mural inside the future Wilde Cat Club, a planned coffee shop, martini bar, and music venue being developed on the former City Hall side of Thalian Hall. Wilmington artist Mark Weber is slated to create the mural.
The capital campaign for the renovation launched in March 2025 and has raised $8.75 million to date. Construction on the ground floor began in April 2026, with completion now projected for the second quarter of 2028.
REV Federal Credit Union leaders say the donation reflects the organization’s focus on community development and long-term investment in the region.
Thalian Hall officials say the gift will help support the transformation of the historic venue while preserving its legacy as a performing arts space. The ceiling mural is expected to honor past technicians who have worked at the theater, as well as future crews who will carry its operations forward.
The renovation continues as fundraising efforts remain ongoing.
