Ribbon cutting held for new solar farm in Duplin County

WARSAW, NC (WCTI) — Duke Energy opened the largest solar panel farm in its territory on Wednesday in Warsaw. The farm is the second largest solar panel facility in the state.

It took about nine months to complete the project. Company officials and state and local leaders attended a ribbon cutting ceremony for the facility on Friday.

The North Carolina President for Duke Energy David Fountain said the farm was built in Warsaw because the town has a lot of flat land and because it is close to company resources that help power the facility.
