Weather delays River Road construction, so when will it finally open?

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — River Road in New Hanover County was scheduled to reopen in mid-May, but weather delayed construction.

The new opening date was May 31, but now that likely won’t be the case.

According to NCDOT Spokesperson Brian Rick, engineers will perform a walkthrough Thursday.

If the inspection goes well they hope to have the road open at the end of the week.

Rick said there is no official date until the walk through is completed.

Ricks says if there are any problems they will assess them and go from there.
