Riverfest celebrates fall on the Cape Fear this weekend

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Cape Fear river shines bright as the centerpiece of a fall tradition in downtown Wilmington this weekend.

Riverfest was postponed by heavy rains last month, but event Chairman Chris Snowden says the change means it is now bigger and better than ever.

Snowden says that because of the delay the event was able to add vendors to the event for an even better experience.

Local artists, arts and crafts, competitions, exhibitions and fun for the whole family starts Friday  and runs through Sunday on Water Street.

Details on events including Saturday’s fireworks display are at www.wilmingtonriverfest.com
