Riverlights to open to the public this Saturday
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A new kind of community is opening in Wilmington this weekend, developers call it a community that celebrates family, honors nature, and embraces southern heritage.
Developers held a private ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday afternoon to say thank you to all their partners who helped make Riverlights possible.
The new community has several amenities including a boardwalk overlooking the water, restaurants, various parks among several other things. Vice President of Development, Jim Henry says most of which are mainly outdoor activities designed to create one big community.
“My favorite part of being part of this project is becoming a part of the greater community of Wilmington. So we’re creating something here that is a community within itself but also will be connected to that bigger community so we can invite people to engage at all levels of living and working and playing. And to take advantage of what is Wilmington North Carolina,” Henry said.
Riverlights has been in the works for a long time. Developers voluntarily asked to be annexed into the city of Wilmington, they also relocated River Road to build the community.
Riverlights will be open to the public this Saturday from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. For more information on what they have to offer click here.
