Road closures, lane restrictions planned on Myrtle Grove Road

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Drivers on Myrtle Grove Road should prepare for road closures and lane restrictions later this month as utility work takes place in southern New Hanover County.
According to officials, Myrtle Grove Road will be closed to through traffic on Saturday, July 25, between Golden Road and Piner Road while crews install a water line at 6200 Myrtle Grove Road.
Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes and expect delays during the closure.
Additional traffic impacts are planned Monday, July 27, through Wednesday, July 29, when a single lane of Myrtle Grove Road will be closed for sewer utility work.
The lane closure will extend from the intersection of Lt. Congleton Road and Myrtle Grove Road to the area near Tall Ships Lane and Myrtle Grove Road. Traffic control measures will be in place, and drivers should expect delays while traveling through the work zone.
Officials are encouraging motorists to allow extra travel time, use caution in construction areas and follow posted traffic signs and directions from flaggers.
