Road closures planned as crowds head for Azalea Festival Street Fair, Parade this weekend
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Each year among the most popular events during the Azalea Festival are the parade on Saturday morning and the street fair throughout the weekend. To make it possible, it means several road closures in and around downtown Wilmington.

The Azalea Festival Street Fair starts tonight at 6 p.m. and continues until 10 p.m. Saturday it runs 10 a.m.-10 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. It includes vendors, entertainment and a children’s area.

The parade steps off from 3rd and Market streets Saturday at 9:30 a.m. It travels north up 3rd Street past the reviewing stand at City Hall before ending at Red Cross Street.

Pre-parade festivities include:
9 a.m. – MGC Parade Mile
9:25 a.m. – National Anthem at City Hall & Flyover by the Bandit Flight Team
9:28 a.m. – Parade Ribbon Cutting with Port City Silly Clowns at Market and 3rd St.
If you cannot make it to the parade, it will be broadcast LIVE on the City Channel (Time Warner Channel 8).
