Robbers beat victim … twice

Time: 2:40 a.m. – Friday morning
Location: Walnut and Anderson Streets
Offense: Armed Robbery

Summary: The male victim was walking eastbound on Walnut Street when he noticed two men sitting on a porch in the 800 block Walnut Street. One of the men asked the victim if he had money. He said no and kept walking. When he reached the area of Anderson and Walnut Streets, the same two men approached him.

One of them pointed something that looked like a gun, and told the victim to hand over his wallet or he would shoot him. The other robber searched the victim, took his wallet, and then punched the victim, knocking him down. The victim got up and tried to run, but the robbers caught him and hit him again before fleeing. The victim was treated for minor injuries at the scene by EMS.
