Robbery victim stabbed in the stomach, back

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Police are investigating an armed robbery that ended with the victim suffering stab wounds to the stomach and back.

The incident happened Sunday around 5:15 p.m. in the 600 block of N. 3rd Street. Police said when they arrived on scene, they spoke to a man who said he was stabbed during a scuffle with two men trying to steal his computer bag.

The victim, a man in his 50s, said he was walking down the street when the men jumped him. The suspects did not get the bag from the man. The victim was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center for his injuries. No word on his condition.

No word on arrests at this time.
