Rocky Point woman pleads guilty to child abuse charges

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Rocky Point woman is going to prison after pleading guilty in Pender County Superior Court.

Cassie Cliff, 33, failed to seek immediate medical care for her infant after she realized the child had injured her head.

Cliff pleaded guilty to Negligent Child Abuse Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury.

Judge Phyllis Gorham sentenced her to between nearly 3 years and up to 5 years in prison.
