Run for a cause at the annual Beethoven 15K/5K


BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Grab your best Beethoven costume and lace up your sneakers! Wilmington Symphony’s 5th annual Beethoven 15K/5K returns this weekend.

The family-friendly event benefit the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra and its youth education programs. There will be 5K and 15K races as well as 5K and 15K walks.

Executive Director Reed Wallace said it’s the perfect tune-up race for a new year.

Whether you are training for a half marathon or just want some fresh air, there is something for everyone.

The event course runs through Brunswick Forest and features t-shirts, customized 15K medals and a post-race party with snacks, drinks and prizes. There is also a “Best Costume” award.

The race kicks off at 9 a.m. on Sunday, January 28, rain or shine.

Registration ranges from $40-$50 depending on the race you choose and is available both online and at the door. Click here to register online.
