Salmonella scare hits Cary, NC
A national salmonella scare continues to hit the Tar Heel State. Peanut butter crackers made in Cary tested positive Tuesday for salmonella.
Austin Quality Foods, part of Kellogg, submitted 50 samples. The Department of Agriculture said one returned a positive salmonella reading.
More testing is being done this week to see if it is the same strain of salmonella linked to the recent outbreak.
Officials said four kinds of salmonella have been identified across the country, in the growing investigation of tainted peanut products.
