Saturday is World Rabies Day

Pet experts say World Rabies Day is a good time to make sure you’re dog or cat has been vaccinated. More than 55,000 people die from rabies every year around the world.

That’s why students and faculty at UNCW are sponsoring a free rabies clinic Saturday on campus for dogs, cats and ferrets.

UNCW student Katie Hughs said, “We’ll have volunteer vets here to vaccinate cats, dogs, and ferrets who are four months of age or older. And they’ll get a certificate with tags and everything.”

The clinic will be held on the UNCW campus in parking lot K next to Trask Collisium.
It runs from one o’clock to three tomorrow afternoon. And vaccinations are free to all pet owners
