Saturday’s Chowder Cook-Off won by Michael’s Seafood

Hundreds of people gathered at Carolina Beach Lake Park Saturday to taste some of the best chowder on Pleasure Island and Wilmington.

The 13th Annual Pleasure Island Chowder Cook-Off brought out restaurants like O’Charley’s, The Courtyard by Marriott’s Sea Side Grill and Rucker John’s.

Our very own Steve Rondinaro was a judge, but he was not the only one who got a say. People were able to sample to their heart’s content and vote for what they thought was the best chowder.

The winner for People’s Choice and Judges’ Choice for Best Chowder was Michael’s Seafood.

The Best Decorated Booth award went to Jack Mackerel’s.
