‘Save Echo Farms’ holds informational meeting to save golf course
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Residents of Echo Farms continue to fight to preserve their golf course.
The group ‘Save Echo Farms’ held an informational meeting Sunday afternoon to let residents and community members know where they are in their efforts. In the last 30 days board member, John Hirchak said they have raised money, public awareness, and unified 11 different communities in order to fight back against developers.
Although they have a long way to go, today’s meeting brought them one step closer to finding a strategy to potentially stop the housing project.
“It’s just not fair that a half billion dollar company can come in to make tens of millions of dollars, while we homeowners, are gonna lose tens of millions of dollars. It’s a fairness issue, it’s just not right that they can do that.” Hirchak said.
Right now, ‘Save Echo Farms’ has more than 1,600 people on board.
