‘Save Echo Farms’ seeks support at Wilmington City Council meeting

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) – Save Echo Farms is planning to attend Tuesday’s Wilmington city council meeting and wants other to join them.

The non-profit grassroots organization is fighting the development of the 139 acres of greenspace that is presently the Echo Farms golf course.  As we first told you last month, a developer is looking into building 675 homes and townhomes on the golf course.

The Save Echo Farms group wants others who are concerned about ongoing development to attend Tuesday night’s city council meeting.

Save Echo Farms wants those who attend to wear orange shirts in a show of support.

Recently, the group has also hired experts to help save their neighborhood.

Save Echo Farms will also be hosting a Community Meeting on September 25. No word yet on when that will be.
