SBI assisting Tabor City police after body found in the lake

TABOR CITY, NC (WWAY) – Tabor City police are investigating the death of a man whose body was recovered this morning from Lake Tabor.

Chief Donald Dowless said Timothy Coleman was last seen around lunchtime yesterday.

Chief Dowless says they have reason to believe he had gone into Lake Tabor. They found his clothing on the bank of the lake and someone told police they had heard someone yelling for help.

Police searched last night for Coleman.

His body was found this morning.

The State Bureau of Investigation is assisting Tabor City police.

Coleman owned Coleman’s Drive-In, a restaurant in Tabor City. Chief Dowless said Coleman was around 48-years-old.
