SC man, female accomplice arrested for Calabash CVS robbery
BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Brunswick County detectives say a South Carolina man and his female accomplice face charges for an armed robbery at a Calabash CVS Pharmacy yesterday morning.
Deputies say North Myrtle Beach man Luther Stanley, 39, was arrested in the Myrtle Beach area last night after they say he threatened two people with a knife when he robbed the Ocean Highway CVS in Calabash Wednesday. That’s where they say Stanley demanded the drug Oxycontin before running out of the store.
Detectives say Jennifer Moreland, 21, also of North Myrtle Beach, was waiting in a car outside the pharmacy during the crime. Moreland is now back in Brunswick County behind bars, facing charges for aiding and abetting an armed robbery and misdemeanor child abuse.
Deputies say Stanley was arrested in South Carolina last night, where he will face additional charges. When he is transferred to Brunswick County, Stanley faces charges for robbery with a dangerous weapon, second degree kidnapping and assault on a female.
Detectives say no one was hurt during the crime.
