SC Powerball ticket wins $260 million jackpot
COLUMBIA, S.C. — The economic crunch has drastically improved for one lucky lottery ticket holder who bought a ticket in South Carolina.
Lottery officials said Thursday that a Powerball ticket sold in South Carolina matched all six of the numbers drawn to win the midweek Powerball jackpot worth nearly $260 million. A news conference was planned Thursday at a Columbia retailer where the ticket was sold.
Amber Baldwin, assistant manager at the Murphy USA store, says the store is buzzing with exciting and has seen an increase in ticket sales since discovering it sold the winning ticket.
The winning numbers Wednesday were 14, 24, 31, 43 and 51. The Powerball was 27 and the multiplier was 5.
South Carolina lottery spokeswoman Stephanie Summer Hemminghaus says the winner has not come forward.
