School board agrees to close Pender Success Academy
Students who attend an alternative school in Pender County will be attending different schools next year. The school board in Pender County has agreed to close Pender Success Academy.
With the school district facing major budget cuts from the state level, closing the school is due to financial strains. The move will save close to a million dollars in operation costs to house the more than 40 students.
In the fall, both students and staff will be absorbed back into traditional schools.
