UPDATE: Missing fisherman found in Columbus Co. lake

WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — Rescue crews have found a Lumberton man who apparently fell from his small fishing boat in Columbus County.

The Fayetteville Observer reported that Columbus County Coroner Linwood Cartrette said that 62-year-old Bill Lowery apparently fell into Inman Lake on Saturday afternoon. Cartrette said two friends fishing with Lowery did not see him fall but heard the splash.

On Monday morning, deputies announced on the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page that Lowery was found around 9:30 a.m. The post said a news release would be sent later this afternoon.
