Search warrant reveals more clues in Ogden woman’s death

A search warrant for the Ogden home where an elderly woman lay dead since the spring reveals more clues about the case.

87 year old Blanche Roth’s body was removed from 612 Cherry Laurel Court last week. Roth’s daughter, Amy Stewart is charged with concealing her death. According to the warrant, Stewart’s father in law called 911, after his wife went to check on Roth.

EMS arrived to find Roth’s body lying on a bed, covered in blankets, in a mummified state. Stewart told deputies that her mother had been dead since June. Authorities took financial records from the home, along with air fresheners and odor eliminators.

Federal authorities are now looking into fraud charges. No word yet on how Roth died.
