Searchers looking for missing man find body in Hallsboro

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A search for a missing person led to the discovery of a body off of Thurman Road in Hallsboro.

The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office says Community United Effort for Missing Persons found the body in a wooded area on Saturday.

The identity and cause of death are pending an autopsy.
