Seawitch Cafe fire deemed suspicious

Carolina Beach fire officials are investigating a suspicious fire at the Seawitch Cafe.

Carolina and Kure Beach fire departments responded to the 200 block of Carolina Ave. at about 1:30 Monday afternoon.

Chief John Rorie says thanks to quick notification, the fire was contained within three minutes.

He says the fire started at the restaurant’s tiki bar, but has not yet identified the cause.
