Sec. Kluttz pushes for transportation bond
BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — North Carolina Secretary of the Department of Cultural Resources Susan Kluttz pushed for Gov. McCrory’s transportation bond today.
“We are in danger of losing this very important historic site to erosion,” Kluttz said during a visit to the Brunswick Town historical site, “and it is about to fall into the Cape Fear River. We have got to do something as soon as possible. This would be a wonderful way to be able to do that with this funding.
Kluttz’s concern for the accelerated rate of erosion along the Cape Fear River is why she is promoting a close to $3 billion bond proposal.
Kluttz said that there is no intention of a tax increase in the bond. The bond plan is called Connect NC and it proposes various projects from the mountains to the coast investing in 64 counties in the state.
