Second review finds issues at Pender Health Department
PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Another assessment of the embattled Pender County Health Department is now complete. John Stephens from the School of Government at UNC Chapel Hill found some parts of the department run smoothly, but in other areas of the department, there is a “deep distrust,” “unprofessional conduct” and “poor communication.”
The review is part a larger assessment requested by the Pender County Board of Commissioners after they received multiple complaints from employees, ranging from allegations of a hostile work environment to employees using drugs on the job.
