Sen. Smith visits Brunswick County
BRUNSWICK COUNTY — The campaign caravan for one state gubernatorial candidate rolled into town Tuesday.
Sen. Fred Smith stopped in Brunswick County. It was his 41st stop on his 100-county bus tour. Smith is one of five candidates running for governor.
State Rep. Bonner Stiller joined Smith for his appearance. Smith says he spent a lot of time in Brunswick County as a child and wanted to hear from the people who live there.
“Brunswick County is one of the fastest growing counties in this state,” Smith said. “It’s a beautiful county. It’s good people, that’s why we’re here on our 41st stop on our 100-county barbecue tour.”
Smith will also be hosting a meet and greet barbecue at Virginia Williamson Elementary School at 6:30 p.m.
Democrats Richard Moore and Beverly Perdue and Republicans Bill Graham, Robert Orr are all vying for the governor’s seat.
