Edwards and Clinton say Bush not doing enough to help homeowners

WASHINGTON (AP) — Democratic presidential candidates John Edwards and Hillary Clinton says President Bush is not doing enough to help homeowners at risk of foreclosure.

Bush is expected to announce an agreement with the mortgage industry today to freeze certain subprime mortgage interest rates for five years. Edwards and Clinton say the conditions on the
freeze will leave out many homeowners who are most vulnerable.

Edwards says the plan will still leave millions of families at risk of foreclosure. The former North Carolina senator says more help is needed for families.

Clinton says Bush will give homeowners less help than they deserve.

Edwards announced a plan yesterday that would require the freeze on mortgage rates to last for seven years.
