Seniors knit hats for newborns

Volunteers at the New Hanover County Senior Center have knitted about 125 stocking caps for newborns at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. They put in their final stitches on Monday. They say it’s the least they can do to welcome the little ones into the world…

Volunteer Yupa Sullivan said, “You know what? Love is giving, and we can’t give anything but love and labor so we make all this.”

Volunteers also knit pink and blue hats for the children year round. Some like Sullivan have been doing it for years.
