Several people arrested on heroin charges


NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Four people are behind bars after a drug bust at a home on N. 6th Street in Wilmington.

The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office says it received a tip about heroin being sold and used at the home.

Last week, Vice & Narcotics Detectives, along with the Brunswick Count Sheriff’s Office and FBI searched the home.  Inside, they found 123 bags of heroin, 7 grams of crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and two firearms, according to a news release.

Willie Baldwin, 65, is charged with maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance and possession of a firearm by a felon. His bond is set at $25,000.

Sabrina Bell, 49, is charged with maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance. Her bond is $12,000.

They are also charged with selling liquor without a permit and selling untaxed paid liquor.

Anthony Thames, 57, is charged with PWISD heroin, PWISD cocaine, possession firearm by felon, resist/delay/obstruct, possession drug paraphernalia. His bond is set at $100,000.
